HOW TO INSERT A RECEIVER IN THE CANAL (RITE) STYLE HEARING AID

Learning to insert a Receiver In The Canal (RITE) style of hearing aid takes of little practice for the new user.

Follow these steps.

To start - Step One

Hold the RITE style hearing aid so it will go over your ear - like putting on a pair of glasses.

Step Two

Rest the hearing aid on top of the ear.  Do not pull the aid behind the ear - it sits more on top.

Step Three

Push the hearing aid receiver with dome into the ear canal.  It does not have to be fully inserted yet.

Step Four

Place the retention string backwards into the lower portion of the concha bowl.  The retention string helps maintain the position of  the  hearing aid's receiver.

Step Five

Use your index finger and push the receiver as far into the canal as possible.  It cannot go too far.

Final - The perfect RITE ear!

Notice how the receiver wire rests snuggly against the front of the ear.  The retention string rests unnoticeably in the lower part of the concha bowl.
