LEARNING OBJECTIVES OF PRE-CONVENTION COURSES Objective: Hearing healthcare professionals will learn about Cochlear's implantable hearing technology: The Cochlear ™ Nucleus ® 5 and the Baha ® system. Topics include: Overview of Hearing and Hearing Loss, implantable technology overview, candidacy criteria, referral procedures, building successful partnerships, medical/surgical consideration, benefits of binaural and bimodal hearing and emerging technology. Objectives will be accomplished via lecture, live demonstration and attendee participation. Attendees will learn to: 1. Identify and clinically apply the primary components of BestSound technology, 2. Understand the relation between technology & wearer benefit 3. Utilize the CONNEXX software for counseling as well as programming hearing instruments and the Tek Wireless Enhancement System
Objective: Participants will learn: a) How to select the product for specific hearing loss; b) How each technology level applies different functions; c) How to program specific features to customize for the needs of patients; and d) The use of counseling tools within the Connexx software
Objective: Participants will receive instruction on, Unitron's Product portfolio including: Smarfocus™; new solutions for CROS/BICROS fittings (Tadem™); super power (*360™) and Smart alert System™ - the first fully integrated hearing and alerting system.
Objective: How staying connected impacts quality of life over the decades; what contributes to successful connections; what new hearing instrument features contribute to effortless speech understanding in noise; & what are the keys to demonstrating connectivity successfully.
